About

Adrian McConnaughie
I am a self-taught artist drawn to the beauty of the landscape.
Working mainly from photographs and brief sketches I paint using oils and acrylics.
The sense and memory of place is food for the soul and in my work you will find places that, first and foremost, hold a deep and powerful memory for me.
The North Antrim coast provides the backdrop to many of my earliest memories as I grew up and it’s wild and rugged coastal landscape, particularly the Giants Causeway, remain captivating and challenging for any painter.
The beautiful Pembrokeshire coast around St. David’s has been an inspiration for much of my work as well, keeping afresh important memories of summers spent there.
I hope you enjoy the catalog of work.
